SAMULCO's Coastal Clean-Up and Cooperative Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals

As fervent supporters of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, SAMULCO, under the leadership of the dedicated Gender and Development Committee, took the reins in organizing a proactive Coastal Clean-up Drive Wave of Change and Action: Bantay Dagat on December 9. 2023 in Barangay Centro, Agdao District, Davao City. The initiative saw enthusiastic participation from various quarters, including the dynamic Barangay Chairman Rene I. Estorpe and dedicated functionaries, SAMULCO scholars and parents, as well as the cooperative's own employees, members, and officers. The collaborative effort extended beyond the clean-up itself, as SAMULCO, embodying its commitment to community welfare, also contributed essential cleaning materials to further support the ongoing clean-up/ Bantay Dagat efforts in Barangay Centro, Agdao.

As SAMULCO spearheads initiatives like this, it underscores the cooperative's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being. SAMULCO recognizes the pivotal role cooperatives play in fostering economic growth, social inclusion, and environmental responsibility. Through its active involvement in community-driven projects, SAMULCO not only exemplifies the cooperative principles but also acts as a catalyst for positive change, promoting a harmonious balance between economic progress and environmental stewardship within the community.
