SAMULCO SUCCESSFULLY HELD ITS 53 RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

Santillan takes the post as Chairperson

SAMULCO has just concluded its 53 rd General Assembly Meeting last July 23, 2022, in
a Sequential and blended Virtual and Face-to-face meeting under the regulatory relief
provided by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). The first-ever virtual GA
Meeting cut the two-year deferment of the gathering of member-owners. officers and
management to discuss vital issues pertaining to the operation and status of SAMULCO
after the COVID-19 pandemic wreaked havoc and posed health risks restricting public
gatherings.

In this General Assembly Meeting, a new set of Officers for 2022 were elected. Former
Vice Chairperson Joselito Santillan also took the post as Chairperson of the Board
during the re-organization of Elected Officers. Ms. Plinia Manugas and Ms. Erlinda
Tuble were also voted as Chairpersons of the Audit and Election Committee
respectively.

The induction ceremony for 2022 SAMULCO officers was held at SotoGrande Hotel
with no less than CDA – XI Regional Director Ruben L. Cunanan administering their
oath-taking. In his inspirational message, Dir. Cunanan emphasized the importance of
unity, agility, and dynamism of the people behind the cooperative and the passion and
compassion in serving the members. He also stressed that the cooperatives should
advance the plight of members by providing them with gains on continuous education,
guidance, and financial assistance. He closed his message with a reminder that “when
there is unity, there is always victory.” (W, S).
