Championing Team Spirit: SAMULCO's Colorful Triumph at Almeja Azul

Teamwork is every organization’s cornerstone. Recognizing this, Sta. Ana Multipurpose Cooperative (SAMULCO), in collaboration with Wild and Mild Travel and Tours, under the capable leadership of Mr. Khenpin Dela Cruz, orchestrated a dynamic two-day team-building event with the theme, "Igniting Team Spirit: In it to Win it," on September 9-10, 2023, at Almeja Azul: Seaside Resort by LYR Resort, located on the pristine Samal Island, Davao del Norte. The event was participated by SAMULCO's officers, officials, and employees, all eager to strengthen their bonds and work together more effectively.

In his welcome message, Chairperson of the Board Victor Bonifacio O. Hofilena emphasized the importance of team building and stated "I hope everyone will not only participate but also enjoy every moment of this event, as it will bring us closer as a team and empower us to serve our members and communities better."

This year's team building event took a colorful twist, with participants divided into 10 teams, each representing a different color. The colors not only added vibrancy to the event but also symbolized the diversity and unity within SAMULCO. One of the highlights of the event was the spirited competition in chants and yells, where each team showcased their creativity and unique way of cheering. Team Red won the 4th Place,Team Blue secured the 3rd place, Team Yellow took the 2nd place, and Team Red clinched the 1st place with their infectious enthusiasm.

But the fun didn't stop there. A series of games and challenges kept participants engaged throughout the first day and into the second. These games tested their problem-solving skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking, reinforcing the importance of collaboration within SAMULCO. The second day started with an invigorating Zumba session, where everyone grooved to the rhythm, breaking a sweat, and strengthening their bonds through synchronized movement. 

As the two-day event concluded, the atmosphere was one of renewed energy and enthusiasm among SAMULCO's team members. The bonds formed and lessons learned during this team building experience will undoubtedly have a lasting impact on the cooperative's ability to serve its members and communities effectively.

In his inspirational message, CEO Ruel S. Ricabo quoted Helen Keller, stating, "Alone, we can do little; together, we can do so much." He emphasized, "I hope everyone enjoys the activities, but more than the fun, I hope everyone has realizations of the importance as a team."

Quoting H.E Luccock, Vice Chairperson of the Board Joselito O. Santillan said that  "No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it” stressing the crucial role each member plays in the team's success.. He later expressed his  heartfelt gratitude to every one for dedicating their time to savor the team-building event. “Together, we've crafted something extraordinary, and I'm eagerly looking ahead to our continued harmony as SAMULCO team." With these words, he brought the two-day celebration to a close.
