Laboratory Cooperative

SAMULCO Laboratory Cooperative started last 2016, a Child and Youth savings program of SAMULCO particularly Child Social and Financial Education to children aged 6-17 years old. The concept of the said programs revolves around the belief that children are powerful agents of social and economic change. Empowering children to make this change and break the cycle of poverty means making them aware of what their rights and responsibilities are, and equipping them with the tools to put those rights into practice.

Aflatoun

SAMULCO Aflatoun started last 2018, a program of Child Social and Financial Education to children aged 6-17 years old with the support and partnership of National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO). The Aflatoun concept revolves around the belief that children are powerful agents of social and economic change. Empowering children to make this change and break the cycle of poverty means making them aware of what their rights and responsibilities are, and equipping them with the tools to put those rights into practice.

Aflatoun is an educational program of balanced social and financial education for children aged 6-17 years old. Social responsibilities and financial literacy are brought into the sphere of formal education. Aflatoun is part of the global movement to empower the children and youth and was adapted and brought to the Philippines. National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO) is the only organization in the Philippines that implements Aflatoun Program nationwide. It works with local cooperatives across the country to ensure that children have an opportunity to experience the program. These partner cooperatives, large and small; all share the belief that social and financial education is crucial for children to realize their full potential.
